US:
The London Cycle Workshop has been established for over seven years and has gained an excellent reputation for servicing and repairing bikes to the highest standard. We are a friendly local shop and have built up a strong rapport with our customers for our honest advise and customer service. We have two locations, Wandsworth SW11 and Hammersmith W6.
THE POSITION:
We are looking for dedicated, hard working and experienced mechanics to join our team. The role is that of mechanic, although you will also be required to double up as a sales assistant, advising and recommending products on the shop floor, so a familiarity with current parts and accessories is essential.
Part of the role of mechanic is to book bikes into the workshop, so the ability to thoroughly assess workshop jobs and offer advice is pivotal to the role. We are looking for candidates willing to develop their skills, training will be provided however prior workshop and retail experience is essential.
We are recruiting for both shops. Hours will be spread over five days to include one weekend day. We are flexible with working hours and are happy to create a rota that suites the successful candidate.
THE PERSON:
The candidate should possess proven skill and experience as a mechanic, along with great communication skills. Excellent customer service skills are important to maintain and improve relations with the customers, and to ensure we excel when it comes to expectations. We have worked hard to build a strong reputation as a friendly, talented and reliable workshop, and these values need to be upheld and built upon. The ability to work as part of a team, and adapt to a changing work load is essential. Basic IT skills along with excellent written and spoken English are requirements for the role, Cytech level 2 or equivalent and above a bonus.
MUST HAVE:
Previous experience as a mechanic.
Retail experience in the bike trade.
Computer literacy.
